Peace with Lions to Nano-technology Spray : Innovation Perpsectives

Yesterday I viewed these two TED videos.
What struck me was the different perspectives and the two extremes from which innovation happens..

First video was the story of a 13 year old Kenyan boy living in forest , Richard Turerewho came with a innovative idea to keep lions away from his family fields.



Second one is from Mark Shaw who talks about sophisticated  Nano Technology spray which can revolutionize material science and make materials water proof.

Both stories are completely different  - one resulting from the dire need to survive and the other with a passion to make things better .
These stories do reinforce my belief that ' Inspiration is everywhere'  from Nairobi forests to Hi-tech labs.
